Roohi's POV:

I picked up the tray and took the next order to the respective customer who ordered 2 classic margarita then went to another table to take their order.

It's really busy here today that by the time my shift was over I was exhausted as hell.

Damn!! It's sometimes tiresome to work at a bar even though it sounds easy.. but it's not.

I have been working at this lounge bar named 'Brew & Velvet' for the past 3 months now and I find most of the staff here so easy going and kind to me.

This is lounge bar cum cafè, it is a normal place at day but becomes totally wild at night.

Most of the time I work day shift but sometimes on busy days I have to work night hours also.

"Roohi, I am leaving. Are you coming with me?" My co-worker who is also my friend asked me.

I was putting away the remaining utensils from the counter "Ahh.. I'll leave in 15 minutes. You can leave, Dhriti."

After my shift was finally over Meera, my manager told me that they hired two new staff to manage the workload here and to be honest I was glad that they thought about it.

So after a long tiring day, I just wanted to retire to my bed but I have to go to the Agency office as my head has called me.

I sighed and took a bus to the head office because of course, a 24 year old common girl who works at a cafe can't afford a car.

I looked for my head as soon as I reached there because I am eager to go home as soon as possible.

"ROOHIIII"

I slightly jumped when I heard my name and turned around while rubbing my chest.

Ohh.. My Poor Heart..!!

I saw Aviraj standing there with a wide grin. He quickly ran to me and pulled me in a tight hug.

"Oh my God! Avi, Leave me. You will suffocate me."

Avi and I have been friends since we were kids. We met when I was brought to the Agency when I was just 7 years old.

I don't have parents so I am alone in this world. Well... I guess I have parents but I don't know where they are.

Actually I was a lost child who must have separated from her parents. I don't remember much so I have very little to no memories of my parents.

But the Agency adopted me when Raj's parents found me on a road crying for my parents.

Since then I have been here so I am so thankful to his family and consider him as my brother.

He left me while grinning ear to ear "It's been a while since we saw each other."

I playfully glared at him "It's just been three days Avi."

"Oh, come on Roohi. Just admit that you missed me too."

I chuckled and shook my head at him "Where is sir?"

He pouted and pointed at the meeting room making me sigh. Now I have to wait for him to finish his meeting.

To my relief I didn't have to wait for long so I knocked on his office door as soon as he entered.

When I entered he was sitting on his head office chair. He is in his late 40s but no one could say that just by looking at him.

I looked at his name plate of the Head of CIA 'Daksh Tamrakar'.

"Good Evening, Sir!"

He smiled as I greeted him and greeted back "Good Evening, Agent 09. Please take a seat. How have you been lately?"

I sat on the chair in front of his desk and looked at him closely. Even though he was smiling, he looked exhausted with a few fine lines on his forehead.

"I am doing great Sir. Is everything ok? You look exhausted."

His expression turned serious as he shook his head "No, That's why I called you here Roohi. It's about 'Dark Reign'."

I nodded in understanding as I turned into my professional mode.

Again that fucking crime organisation!

He continued "I got news from my spies that.... NOX is going to crack a huge deal and we got our hands on where this business is going to take place."

"Then what are we waiting for, sir? Let's catch that moth- I.. mean let's catch him."

Fuck! I was about to curse in front of the head of the CIA!!

Thankfully he ignored my unprofessional behaviour and answered my question "That's why I called you here, Agent 09. Your next or let's say the most important mission of your life is going to be this.... To catch the leader of the Dark Reign.. NOX."

I was surprised because why would he choose me.. when he has so many experienced agents?

It's not like I doubt my capabilities but NOX is no joke.. Many trained and experienced agents and spies tried to catch him but failed miserably.

No one was even able to find any evidence against him which is one of the main reasons we couldn't put him behind the bars.

So of course I was surprised when he chose me for this job.

Finally we will be able to collect any evidence against NOX.

"Sir.. I am so grateful that you thought I am capable enough to handle such an important mission. I will do my best to catch this NOX."

He again smiled which lightened the tense environment "I am confident that you will succeed Agent 09. You are more capable than any other agents I have seen. I am so proud of you."

My eyes softened as I heard him and thanked him "Thank you sir."

He has been a father figure to me as he watched me grow up and played an important role in raising and training me.

So, when he said he is proud of me I felt like hugging him but I refrain myself from doing so to maintain my professionalism.

He took out a photo from his drawer and handed it over to me. It had a blur image of a man but it's clear enough to roughly figure out his half face while the other half was hidden by the way he was covering it with his black hoodie.

The image looks like it is a CCTV camera shot or a drone shot maybe?

The man has sharp eyes which look ruthless to look at. His lips are framed in a straight line making me think if he ever smiles.

Still the photo was not clear enough to identify him if I see him face to face. But I will soon see him.. I got this feeling.

I was examining his photo when my head interrupted me "This is NOX."

My eyes widened and I took the photo to examine it again.

My Enemy.

I mumbled "Why haven't I seen him before?"

"Because he rarely reveals his face. Even if you go through the internet you will only find these blur images of him."

It is surprising sometimes because every important personality knows his name, not only important but the common public also knows who he is.. Hell.. the world knows who NOX is, while his face is seen by a few? Excluding these blur photos.

Well.. It will change soon.. when I will put him behind the bars.

And... this mission will definitely gain me a huge promotion. I grin while thinking about it.

"That's weird." I replied to his earlier statement.

"Agent 09, I trust you won't mess up this highly important mission. I chose you by going against the board so I hope you will be worth the risk."

"I won't disappoint you, sir." I replied feeling grateful.

After the meeting he provided me with the details of NOX and his business deal as much as was available to him.

I finally leave the head office and head to my home. I will get to sleep now.... Finally.

The Next Day

I ran to my work place as soon as I got off the bus.

I am late!! Again!!

Shit!

I quickly open the door but bumped into a wall as soon as I entered in.

Wall?? It was the entrance, right?!

I was running so fast before I bumped into this wall that I was about to fall back from the impact but I was rescued by the strong pair of arms around my waist.

That was not the wall I bumped into. It was this heavenly handsome man..

My Gosh!!

I was lost in his beautiful pair of black eyes. His face looked just a perfect example of perfection.

Beautiful eyelashes, thick eyebrow, soft lips, shark jawline and.... his eyes.. Just perfect.

I came back to my senses and realised I was staring at him shamelessly when he pulled me back to help me stand properly and stepped back.

God!! This is embarrassing as hell!!!!
Why did this have to happen to me????

My cheeks reddened and I wished the earth would open and swallow me whole.

Still I tried my best and stuttered with an apologetic bow "I... am sorry. It was.... m..my fault, I didn't look ahead."

The whole time I avoided eye contact with him and not waiting for his reply I ran inside.

I was panting heavily when Dhriti, my co-worker asked "Are you ok Roohi? Why is your face so red?"

I cupped my cheek and tried to smile "It's nothing, I ran to here because I was getting late."

It was not a total lie.. after all.

She smiled at me and told me to take care of myself then she resumed her work.

I quickly changes to my work clothes and my eyes widened when I went outside and saw that man again.

Shit!!

Why is he here again?!

I embarrassingly closed my eyes reluctant to take any step towards the counter where he was standing.

I bite my lips nervously and moved ahead after gathering enough courage.

As I approach the counter where Dhriti was standing staring at that handsome man who was talking to Meera.

Dhriti squirmed "Oh my, Roohi, He is sooooo Handsome."

I followed her line of vision and blood rushed to my cheek when my eyes collide with his dark one.

He again looked at Meera leaving me battle with my stupid heart.

Soon after Meera approached us with that handsome stranger following closely behind her.

Meera smiled at us in a greeting and introduced us to that stranger "This is Roohi and this is Dhriti and girls this is Kian, Your new co-worker."

Kian..

Wait...??!!!!

New Co-worker?

Oh God!!

She waited for us to react and Dhriti grinned ear to ear while I was standing like a statue.

She continued "As I told you both that 2 co-workers will be joining you so here is Kian who will be working on the counter with you and the other is Ishaan who will be working in the kitchen. So, I will leave you all to your work. Have a good day guys."

After she went to her cabin, Dhriti was the one who dared to speak first. She brought forward her hand to shake his hand and said "Dhriti here, It will be nice working with you."

I could already feel a flirting tone in her voice but I didn't say anything the whole time and waited for his reply.

He didn't shake her hand and simply nodded at her.

"The pleasure is all mine, Dhriti." He replied in his professional voice.

She awkwardly chuckled and retrieved her hand so he said "Not to offend you but I have something against physical contact so I hope you will understand."

She nodded and decided to show him to the staff room to change his clothes. Once he was out of my site I sighed in relief.

I don't know why I felt so tense around him. There is something about him which doesn't settle well with me.

He doesn't look like someone who would work in a bar. He gives different vibes.. something rich and luxurious.

I have to keep a close eye on him.. He could be a danger.

I repeated the foreign name on my tongue.
